Friends with FLAIR

I LOVE UNITY...I've said it a few times..but I'm not joking they are seriously A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I have three cards that I created. Only one has a sentiment on it tho because that one will probably go to my best friend because she is doing tons of laundry right now in anticipation for her little guy! So here they are:
The Laundry image is from the Past Kit of the Month: Oct. of 2008 and the Let's Hang Out is from the past KOTM, June of 2009.
The house image is from the set, Pixie Lane!

This house is from the set, Pixie Lane as well!

Also have you checked out their Kit of the Month....AMAZING! You will NOT find a better company with great customer service. Here's their website: www.unitystampco.com

Sticking with Outer Space!

I will apologize right now that the picture is not the best. My camera is TERRIBLE. With no funds to replace it and the type of camera I really, really want (DSLR Nikon D90) is a small fortune, I am OUT of Luck in that Department BUT as far as reaching for the stars, I truly feel like I'm already there. My kids and husband keep me in the stars. They are amazing and wonderful and I feel so very lucky to have my babies and my husband. Also I've been working very hard on taking better care of myself and I continue to reach for the stars in that area of my life but as long as I keep reaching there is hope! What are you reaching for? As always, thanks for stopping by!

Dream BIG......

I have been dreaming BIG lately....Dreaming big about many things. It feels good to dream and to have hopes. Only time will tell if those dreams will work out or they really do become dreams but I will just have to wait and see. What are you dreaming about?
This card was made one night while my husband and I were the only ones up and trust me this does not happen often with him training for a marathon and getting up VERY early for work and little ones that don't EVER like to go to bed. He doesn't normally get to see me do something from start to finish. He was so impressed which made me feel soooo good. It was the first time, he really took noticed, he usually just says, that's nice hunny and that's it. I love that he saw what it took to make this card and appreciates it. This card was made with my two little guys in mind, both are very into rescue heros and planet heros. I love the ages that they are at!
How I made it? I water colored in with my inks and water brush. I used Clover Meadow and Honey Ink from Close To my Heart. The paper is also from CTMH.
That's it! Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Artsy Box

This box was created for my nieces' 12th birthday. Next year she will officially be a teenager and she is the most amazing 12 yr old I know. She is uber sweet and amazing. I thought she needed something to keep her own personal thoughts and mementos in. She's into drawing so I picked up some sketch books and some watercolor pencils and charcoal pencils and personalized the sketch books. I hope she loves it. I definitely put a lot of time and heart into this. She really deserves it!!!

This is the inside of the box. I figured this was a good place to put photos or maybe her own sketches. The paper is from the paper packet, Notebook. It is one of my all time FAVORITE paper packets. The ribbon is from the Silhouette Creative Basics, which is being retired so if you want it, you better scoop it up!

This is the side profile of the box. I finished all sides. You could easily add something to the side and put the box on it's side on a bookshelf but I wasn't sure what her plans would be for the box so I left it blank with a note that if she wanted to add anything we could do so together at a later date.

This was the card to go with her present. I used the Close to my Heart August Stamp of the Month. I LOVE to distress everything so I ended up distressing all of the edges of the card pieces. I don't know if I overdid it but I think she liked it. Below is the picture of the inside of the card.

Last thing, I promise, sorry if I bored you to tears...I made this little post-it note holder for her. I bought the post-it and matching binder clip at Wal-mart. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

Tuesday Take Two

Catchy, Huh? The first card isn't one that I'm totally in love with but it's okay. The paper and the polka dot background is from Close to my heart and the birds on the branch and the "happy" stamp is from Unity. I, as usual, distressed the card to pieces with my distressing ink from Close to my Heart. Oh how I love to distress. I'm really not sure why but it's just something I do. I guess its' a trademark of sorts. Regardless, I love to do it and it keeps me happy. The paper is one of my favorites. It is so versatile. I know I say that about a lot of Close to my Hearts' paper but this set really is awesome. The paper packet is called, Emporium.

What I love about Close to my heart stamps is that I can see thru them. For that, they are worth their weight in gold!

My next card is a plain-jane but I love the owls on the card. They make me smile and they are called the "Who-lagins" by Unity. The paper is from...you guessed it...Close to my Heart and is retiring this year so if you LOVE it, you better snatch it up! It's called Life Delights. I love the brown with the green and pink two of my favorite combos. The phrase, "its the little things" is soooo true. While I am anxiously anticipating my little "nephew"(my best friends' son) and while no doubt he won't be that little, (her last baby was 8.13 lbs) that little "thing" is so darn exciting, I can't wait to hold him. I was going to paper piece the owls but I ran out of scraps, or so I thought but I ended up running across a few pieces while cleaning out my scrap files so I may go back and do that, if I do; I'll post the new and improved! If you want a "how-to", let me know and I'll try to set up a picture tutorial. I really should invest in a mini-digi-recorder as they are fairly inexpensive but I haven't had the funds.
I hope your Tuesday finds you well. I'm hoping my Tuesday morning goes better than my Monday morning. My kids were having a little separation anxiety and it resulted in my two older babies and me bawling our eyes out. Me because I felt so helpless and frustrated and them because I guess I'm just so fun to hang out with! Just kidding! It makes me feel good that they LOVE being home with me but I hate that they were sooo upset. I ran outside Monday and I can't tell you how good it felt. It was warm and comfortable but Fall was definitely in the air. Today I'm making apple crisp with the kids once they get home from school as we got 90% of their homework out of the way. I can't believe how hard first grade is! *SIGH* My kindergartner is LOVING school though which is GREAT! Well that's it for me, take care and Thanks for stopping by!!

Babies are Heaven Sent...

This card is so sweet. I was going to color the bunny in but I loved the outline images. It reminds of the old storybooks that were read to me when I was

little. The sentiment is so true. My best friend is expecting and this baby has been longed for, for many years. With Baby boy arriving sometime around Christmas time...it truely will be a joyous time of the year. I was convinced it was a girl but I was wrong but I still am so excited, I just would love to see what a little girl would look like with her and her hubby. This paper is so versatile. It's great for Babies, Thanks, thinking of you, sympathy, etc.

Hey Chickie....

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Chick image. It's from Unity. There is a big version and small version. This is the small version which can be found in the past KOTM, click here. The big version can be found here. I LOVE the paper that I used also. It's from the other company that I love, Close to my Heart. The paper is called Unforgettable and the Asian feeling makes every card feel tranquil and soothing. It's a very simple card, great for jotting a quick Thank you or Thinking of you or it would be a great baby card.
